Testing for food safety and quality
TENUIS is a laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025. We test food from raw material to the finished product. The microbiology and chemistry laboratories work under one roof, with tests ranging from Salmonella and Listeria to nutritional values, pesticide residues and metals.
We take the sample where you are and perform the tests in Albania. We help you set up a testing programme and prepare the results required by certifications and the regulations in force.
Which foods we test
Food safety and quality, from raw material to the finished product on the shelf.
From meat to beverages
We offer fast and reliable laboratory testing for packaged food, ready meals and frozen food, in support of the food safety of your products.
We also test work surfaces on production lines and water for the food processing industry.
Categories we cover
- Meat, poultry and their products
- Fish and seafood (smoked, salted, dried, prepared)
- Dried fruit and nuts
- Dairy products
- Baby food and infant formula
- Beverages
- Animal feed
- Preserved fruit, vegetables and pulses

How the testing works
Four steps, from your request to the result.
From bacteria to residues in very small amounts
Microbiological tests are performed in a controlled environment, with separate areas for preparation, incubation and examination. In the chemistry laboratory, HPLC MS/MS determines pesticide residues in food, even in very small amounts, while ICP-MS detects toxic metals.
Every sample is tracked in the laboratory's information system, from reception to the report.
The steps
- Tell us which test you need on the contact page or by phone, and we will advise you on the sample.
- Bring the sample to the laboratory or we will come and collect it from you.
- The sample is tested in the microbiology laboratory, the chemistry laboratory, or both.
- The report is delivered in the format you choose: by email, as a hard copy or both, with full traceability.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions we are asked most often.
How do I know which tests I need?
Tell us which test you need and we will advise you on the sample and the next steps. We help you set up a testing programme and prepare the results required by certifications and the regulations in force.
Do you test for Salmonella and Listeria?
Yes. The detection of Salmonella spp is performed according to UNI EN ISO 6579:2017, and the detection and enumeration of Listeria spp and L. monocytogenes according to UNI EN ISO 11290-1:2017 and 11290-2:2017.
Do you carry out nutritional analysis?
Yes. The chemistry laboratory determines moisture, ash, proteins, fats, sugars, fibre, carbohydrates, energy value and salt.
Do you test for pesticide residues and heavy metals?
Yes. Depending on the product, we test for pesticides, aflatoxins, metals, PAH and PCB.
Who takes the sample?
Bring the sample to the laboratory or we will come and collect it from you. Tell us which test you need and we will advise you on the sample and the next steps.
